A Little Bit Of Albuquerque, NM

We were parked at High Desert RV Park in Albuquerque for a month starting the second week of April. We needed to be near an airport and plan to spend the summer in the Rockies, so Albuquerque suited our needs perfectly.

High Desert RV Park

Albuquerque is a big city but somehow doesn’t feel too crowded. The Sandia Mountains are just east, Spanish for watermelon because of the color they turn at sunset. The Rio Grande runs through the middle, with miles of multi-use trails that we didn’t get to take advantage of this time around.

We did make sure to visit historic Old Town which is a lot like Santa Fe, except that there are “patios” with shops tucked back in from the main streets. We love the charming Adobe architecture.

We had a burrito from the Sawmill Market. The big decision involved with New Mexican cuisine is “Red or green” chile. We couldn’t choose so ordered both, “Christmas-style”.

While I was in NC having fun with my parents, Michael hiked the South Piedra trail in the Sandia Mountains.

And, walked some of the trails at Petroglyph National Monument.

Next, we start heading north and spend a week near Taos.
