Banff, Canada

I don’t have too many photos to share of our 2 weeks in the town of Banff. The best thing to do is visit Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, and we’d been there the week before. There were a few days of smoke and/or rain and Michael took a work trip out of Calgary.

Banff is the main food/lodging hub for Banff National Park visitors. The Tunnel Mountain campgrounds have over 1000 RV/tent campsites and are so popular that our entire Canadian Rockies route was planned around the 2 weeks I was able to book at the end of our trip only after school was back in session. The Trailer Court, where we stayed, has full hookup sites.

From the Tunnel Mountain campgrounds, it was a 2-minute drive down into Banff and then about 20 minutes circling to find a parking spot.

Thankfully, we had nice weather on the weekend. First, we did the Sulphur Mountain trail which gave us a pretty amazing view of the town of Banff and the surrounding peaks. If you don’t want to hike you can ride the Banff Gondola and get the same views!

The next day we did C-Level Cirque trail to an amazing view of Lake Minnewanka.

We did Johnston Canyon late one evening to avoid the crowds at this very popular trail.

On our last afternoon, we decided to walk around the town of Canmore and celebrate our successful 8 weeks of RVing in Canada at Grizzly Paw Brewing.

We left Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend and by Monday we were 700 miles away at Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota!
