A Pit Stop in the Poconos
When we pulled out of NC at the beginning of May, we were headed to New England. We wanted to avoid I95 and take I81 to I84, which meant finding a place on the way somewhere in Pennsylvania for the work week. On our first drive day of the weekend we made it to the sweetest place on earth, Hershey. Following Fall Through PA & VA
Pennsylvania We were very excited about our plans to stay at Moon Lake Recreation Area in Pennsylvania’s Pinchot State Forest. Moon Lake is free (permit required) and has miles and miles of mountain bike trails. There are 10 numbered campsites and a rig our size will only fit in numbers 1 and 7. Unfortunately, we had a few “dips” in full-time RV living this week. There was a lot of rain, in the forms of a nor’easter and a bomb cyclone, whatever the heck that is. North Carolina – June 2021
After our first successful RV trip exploring the southwest, we plopped ourselves down in my parent’s driveway for the month of June, enjoying lots of great family time. Thanks, Mom and Dad! Western NC, where both our parents live and where we both grew up, will always feel like home. We think that being able to come back and stay with them will ground us, balancing out our travels and wanderlust. Besides hanging out with our siblings who came to visit on weekends, the first two weeks were mostly all work and no play. The major project was trying to organize our garage (the bed of the truck).
