Visiting an Old Favorite: Charleston, SC
We’ve been to and through South Carolina many times, even to Charleston a handful of times, but this was our first visit during our RV travels. Charleston is undeniably one of the best Southern cities to visit, and we are always happy to spend time there.
We stayed in the campground at James Island County Park. It offers full hookups and is located in a fabulous park, right outside Charleston and close to Folly Beach.

Michael ended up traveling most of the week for work, so Cody and I had some quality time together.
On my birthday, I took advantage of the park’s shuttle service to downtown and spent the day walking around. Starting at the visitor center, I headed south, browsing all the shops on King Street and walking through the City Market.

I made my way to South of Broad, which must be the prettiest neighborhood in the entire South.

And then headed back north along the waterfront.

On Saturday, Michael and I retraced my previous steps together, adding in the Farmer’s Market and a belated birthday cake from Carmella’s. I couldn’t decide between the cannoli and the carrot, so we got both. They were delicious, and we highly recommend having a sugar rush at Carmella’s.

Next up is a change of scenery; we finally leave the coast for the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia!
